The purpose of the Augusta Basketball Officials is to promote the game of basketball by developing experienced and capable officials whose integrity is above reproach and who actively engage each year in officiating basketball games and fostering a high standard of ethics, encouraging fair play, sportsmanship, closer cooperation and better understanding among officials, athletic directors, coaches, players, press and spectators.
When your playing or coaching days end you can still “STAY IN THE GAME” by becoming a basketball official with the GHSA and Augusta Basketball Officials Many basketball officials are former athletes and/or coaches at various levels who love the game and are now able to contribute to the experience of current athletes, coaches and spectators.
